Interview with Lydia Lace
So, did you give up your industrial engineering career?
Lydia: No, but I combined these two professions in my life. When you act, there are usually periods of free time where you do not earn any money. Hence, a lot of people work in other industries alongside acting. With my MBA and engineering degree, I have financial stability. Furthermore, I need both, science and acting in my life. My management skills help me to organize and push my carreer to the next level. On the other site, when you have a period with a lot of deadlines and topheavy work, acting allows you to feel real again. Let the person you portray flow through you while being in the moment. It connects your head with your heart.
What kind of background do you have?
Lydia: I grow up in Germany and studied across Europe acting and science study. Since I was 12 years old, I have been familiar with all the acting techniques and learnt dancing, professional epee´fencing and classical singing as well. I realized, however that I was also doing well in math and science, so I chose to study engineering & management first.
What are your plans in your acting career?
Lydia: I am not a person who dreams of becoming famous and rich. Maybe one day, I can be an inspiration to others to further develop their passions in art alongside other professions. As an actress, you can do so much more.
Why did you choose London?
Lydia: I like acting in English and living in London. Some of the most excellent schools exist here, where I am constantly improving my acting skills.
